The Lady Pilots continued their winning ways over the LSUA Generals. With this victory the women’s basketball team makes it nineteen straight. What better way to increase a win streak, then by defeating a rival.
In the first half, LSUS was led by none other than the powerful, senior forward Fu’Banks. She ended the night with 20 points and 14 rebounds, giving her a double-double. Shreveport trailed 31-26 at the break.
The Lady Pilots took the floor in the second half with a tenacious attitude storming back to tie the game at 45-45 a piece. During the final frame, Banks carried the offensive load for your Shreveport Lady Pilots by hitting big shots from deep and sinking key free throws down the stretch.
Defense was also the x-factor for them in the fourth, since they held the generals to a staggering 7 points. LSUS would take how the victory 61-52. This win raises their record to 12-0 on the season and 5-0 record atop the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC).
Another big game from Banks helped keep the Lady Pilot win streak alive. During Thursdays contest, Banks also blocked 3 shots moving her into second place for blocks in LSUS Women’s Basketball history (77).
I think the question everyone is asking after 19 straight wins is: can they be beat? Or how long will this go on?
