Greenhouse Salad Co. Continues Nationwide Store Closures, Louisiana Branches Next In-line

After only one year under new ownership and management, Greenhouse Salad Co. will permanently close its doors on April 30[1]. Greenhouse Salad Co. is located on Youree Dr and has been serving customers since 2017. The location will be replaced by Stacked and Tossed an Italian sandwich and salad shop.

Greenhouse’s closure mirrors a larger trend of restaurant shutdowns across the country. Major national chains[2] such as Red Lobster, Hooters, and Applebee’s have shuttered multiple locations in late 2024. Locally[3], Daq’s Wings & Grill, Well+Fed Louisiana, and Dripp Donuts are among the businesses that have also closed its doors.

Industry experts point to financial drawbacks from the COVID-19 pandemic as a root cause. Many restaurants struggled to recover from extended lockdowns and reduced customers. Now, rising food and labor costs[4] combined with inflation are compounding those challenges, forcing even popular spots to close.

As consumer habits shift and operation costs rise, the future of many beloved restaurants remains uncertain.
