LSUS Baseball Players Strike out

LSUS Baseball Players Arrested

At least four players for the LSUS Pilots are off the team after being arrested for being involved in what Louisiana State Police are calling a “drug ring.” State Police arrested fourteen individuals in a drug sting. There is an ongoing investigation associated with the sting.

According to State Police, around $33,000 in cash and $20,000 in Narcotics, were found in the seizure. The drugs seized included marijuana, steroids, Xanax, and other prescription drugs. A handgun and shotgun were also found. State Police noted that the firearms that were seized during the arrests were not seized on the LSUS campus.

LSUS Sports Information Director, Mark Cantrell, stated that the four individuals are no longer members of the baseball program. The LSUS students are also being reviewed for academic expulsion. Due to the student’s confidentiality rights, the students arrested were not named.

No further comments were offered on the matter. The Almagest will continue to follow this story and will provide more information when it becomes available.
