The 2019 LSUS Food Drive ended in spectacular fashion this year.
The goal for this year was to collect 5,500 pounds of food. Since Oct. 1, the students, faculty and staff have collected 7,820 pounds of food, exceeding their goal by over 2,000 pounds.
Out of all the food collected, 5,798 pounds were donated to the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank and the remaining 1,422 pounds were donated to the LSUS Food Pantry.
Each building on campus got into the competitive spirit to see which one would win the coveted Golden Can. Only 100 pounds separated first, second and third place.
The Business Education Building came out on top and won the Golden Can with 1,498 pounds of food. Coming in second place with 1,454 pounds, and winning the Food Drive Star, is the Administration Building. Finally, Bronson Hall came in third place with 1,378 pounds and won the Spirit Stick.
The entire campus came together to help serve the community and fight hunger. With the bar set high, there is no limit to what LSUS can achieve.
