Last Thursday, LSUS announced that the university will move all summer courses online.
This news came as no surprise with the continuous rise of COVID-19 cases in northwest Louisiana. The university assured students that this is only a precaution that will ultimately keep everyone safe.
“We are aware how it can be difficult to transition to online classes, and in an effort to support you and our students as much as possible, we want to notify you about a platform that is currently offering eBook versions of the textbooks you normally use, free-of-cost, through May 25th.”, David Gaither, Digital Resource Manager at NOEL Memorial Library.
Redshelf is a publisher-driven initiative that is providing support to college students and faculty during this global pandemic.
Gaither stated in his email that, “You can search your text title or ISBN before completing the registration process. I have found ISBN to be the most successful method.
The website does not require students to register and it is entirely FREE. Redshelf lets students rent up to 7 e-Book titles at a time.
Being a college student at LSUS, I recently checked to see if my textbooks were offered and both of my summer course textbooks were available for download on Redshelf.
If you are taking summer courses, head on over to https://studentresponse.redshelf.com/ to rent your textbooks. Remember, that the offer expires on May 25th.
